iTeddy – Look out world first we had the teddy bear, then beanie babies, more recently Webkinz and now we have iTeddy! What will they think of next was all I could think when I read about the latest preschool toy.
iteddy features – This cute and cuddly next generation teddy bear is going to be a hit with preschoolers everywhere. It combines soft and cuddly with advanced technology, well advanced as far as teddy bears are concerned anyway. Built into the bear is a 1.8 inch coloured lcd screen that displays everything from the current song title to on board games. This is an mp4 or personal media player, capable of playing both media types as well as video games. This rather regular looking bear will have a large following in a short amount of time, with 512 MB of memory and downloads available on the internet. In addition to all this, the bear comes with integrated speakers, rechargeable battery, removable media player, sd expansion slot and a USB connection. Wow is this a toy or a computer? Actually it is a little of both.
iTeddy is a great toy to introduce multimedia to children; the sd expansion slot will allow you to put your favorite pictures on the media player. The USB connection lets you connect to the internet to download cartoons, games and the latest music.
Released last year in Great Britain by a Bolton entrepreneur, the bear got its big start on a show loosely similar to the Apprentice, the Dragons Den. This is a show where entrepreneurs get three minutes to pitch their idea to five venture capitalist willing to invest their hard-earned money in the right venture. Creator Imran Hakim went into the boardroom with his brother dressed in a bear costume. Many thought it was a bad joke but 17 million dollars later, you could say that it wasn’t such a bad plot after all.
The company is pitching their idea to toymakers around the world, Toys R Us, Hamlets and Tesco just to name a few. He recently signed a distribution deal that will make the iTeddy available in the United States very soon.
Conclusion – By all accounts, this looks to be a hot item this Christmas as it was last Christmas. Let iTeddy keep your young one company on long trips or read them a bedtime story at night. Kids are absolutely in love with the latest and greatest teddy bear on the market.
